Joseph J. Porcello Presents Brand Protection Workshop at Syracuse University’s Blackstone LaunchPad Innovation Hub

Events, News

On January 11, 2020, Joseph J. Porcello, a partner at Bousquet Holstein, presented an interactive brand protection “Toolkit” workshop for the entrepreneur and innovation community at Syracuse University.  The event was hosted by the Blackstone LaunchPad powered by Techstars at Syracuse University Libraries.

During this active hands-on session, Mr. Porcello discussed steps that a startup can take to build a legally protectable brand, including through the registration of strong trademarks, and strategies to combat threats to a company’s brand by counterfeiters, unauthorized resellers, trademark and copyright infringers, and competitors’ false and misleading advertising.  Throughout the program, entrepreneurs and creators had the opportunity to ask questions and seek advice about how to address their own particular intellectual property and brand-related challenges.

Bousquet Holstein is grateful for the opportunity to assist the vibrant Syracuse University innovation community and help its entrepreneurs succeed.
